Wandering Through the Carolinas

September 8, 2010: We headed north. Our first stop was the Pee Dee Farmers' Market outside Florence, SC:
We stopped for lunch in Bennettsville, SC where the cotton country courthouse was landscaped with palmettos:
We took a slight detour to Pinehurst, NC, to visit it's famous golf resort:



























Near the hotel is the resort "village" with a statue of Donald J. Ross, the golfer and golf course architect who designed the famous Pinehurst No. 2 course:
