Amish Markets in Southern Maryland

Southern Maryland, Aug. 2: The North St. Mary's County Farmers Market in the parking lot of the Charlotte Hall Library is the better market for fresh produce and plants but also offers preserves and baked goods.

The Hughesville Market a/k/a Charlotte Hall Farmers Market & Auction has acres and acres of flea market, a lot of non-local produce, and only a few Amish stands and shops. The stand (below l) has wonderful preserves, pickles and baked goods; Albert swears they make the world's best strawberry preserves! This market is also the place for livestock. Fourteen years ago we found Priscilla as a tiny kitten in a paper bag with her siblings.
